The area is nestled between two beautiful lakes, Lake Don Pedro and Lake McClure. Lake Don Pedro is the sixth largest lake in California with 13,000 surface acres and 160 miles of shoreline. It is located approximately 45 miles east of Modesto, 36 miles south of Sonora, 35 miles north or Merced, 40 miles west of Yosemite National Park and 120 miles from the San Francisco Bay Area.

The elevation ranges from 800 to 1600 feet above sea level. Summers are sunny, warm and dry with temperatures in the 90’s to low 100’s. Winters usually from the 40’s to mid 50’s. There is some light fog in the winter months, but usually we are below the snow and above the fog.

The Don Pedro subdivision has over 150 miles of easements for horse trails and two lakes for all water recreation including boating, fishing, skiing, swimming, and marinas offering camping, boat and jet-ski rentals, restaurants, trading post and more. The homeowners’ Hacienda has a large pool, a hall, kitchen, lounge, library and two apartments for use of the members.

An Elementary School and High School, gas, storage, grocery, and hardware shopping are within the subdivision boundaries, along with several parks and ponds for the enjoyment of the property owners. An 18 hole golf course completes the picture.
